Byggeboxen (The Construction Box) is a free learning course aimed at pupils in the 4th to the 7th grade.
The course consists of learning material for preparation in advance and a 4 hour visit to a construction site. In the first part of the visit the children are shown an actual construction site by one of the workers and are introduced to the the different types of crafts involved.
Afterwards the children use their knowledge from the relevant curricula to work with learning in a construction setting. They take the part of one of the crafts and in groups they construct a model of a meeting place. Finally they draw their model using virtual reality.
The aim is to open the construction sector for the pupils and introduce them to the machines, crafts and people of construction.
